Observations 11 May 2007: --------------------------------- Cosatrak 1 (Computerised satellite Tracking System). MINTRON low light level CCD surveillance camera (0.005 lux typical in non integration mode) and 0.00005 lux in STARLIGHT mode with 128 frame integration. Used with 50mm focal length f/1.8 lens, integrating for 128 frames which is equivalent to an exposure of 2.56 seconds per image. Site 0433 : Longitude 18.51294 deg East, Latitude 33.94058 deg S, Elevation 10 metres - situated in Pinelands (Cape Town), South Africa Bright Unknown: -------------------- 91117 07 131MEO 0433 G 20070511174256300 56 15 0945460+055741 39 +050 05 91117 07 131MEO 0433 G 20070511174332100 56 15 0950400+070000 39 +050 05 91117 07 131MEO 0433 G 20070511174416900 56 15 0956270+081542 39 +050 05 Notes: ------- Whilst demonstrating my system to a vistor-Art Arnold from London,UK- we spotted a bright satellite that does not appear in my current 11000 odd satellite element database. The above positions were obtained as it crossed the field of view of the ccd camera. It appeared steady at about magnitude +5. A rough calculation indicates an inclination of around 42 degrees, RA Node about 163 degrees, range ~6000 kms so standard magnitude around +0.9. Another unknown escapes.
