OK, I am a bonehead.   I had used Winzip 10.0 to uncompress
the .gz file.  I could open it and it looked fine. I tried things with
Weleman the downloaded Gzip and still had problems.

Then I looked at my file name size and I finally determined that
I was using too long of a file name.     Everything is fine now.

Thanks for your help.  It is hard to diagnose this type mistake
via email.
