Sky cleared this afternoon after being cloudy for the last few days and so I was able to observe a 30 deg pass of the newly launched Lacrosse 5 and rocket. Observed both with binoculars. The leading rocket was varying from about +3.5 to invisibility with a (very) roughly 30 sec period. Trailing payload was steady around +4. Both appeared white to me. Here's my attempt at a position measurement for the rocket (71004 going by Ted's elements): 71004 05 016B 8929 G 20050501024107000 57 25 0503418+602653 29 R+035 05 030000 from 29.4695 -98.657583 213m.
