    One of the few amateur NAVSPASUR listeners told me some years ago that he'd
    picked up
    the lunar return on a hand-held receiver while standing in his driveway.
    That's a powerful
    transmitter and a big antenna at Lake Kickapoo, TX. Of course, the moon has
    a largish
    RCS at 217 MHz, so that helped.
