Hello everyone,
I have been almost one year without observing satellites because I
bought a webcam and so I could make images of Jupiter (observing this planet
has been my first astronomical interest...for 40 years!). But now, Jupiter
has gone and I am ready to make new observations of satellites, particularly
geoflashers.
Recently, as clear skies have come back, I mad some interesting
observations :
GORIZONT 23 (21533U 91046A) :
- I saw it on 12 May with my C8, very faint :
91- 46 A 01-05-12 23:15 MJ 714.9 0.2 23 26.42 F'aF'; mag 12-13,sp
- last Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, I did not see it,
although the sky was very clear and no moon
TDF 2 ( 20705U 90063A) : 90- 63 A 01-05-19 23:00 MJ 436.6 0.5 20 21.8
very bright flashes at the beginning of the observation (about mag 5) then
the maximum decreased to mag 10
OLYMPUS 1 (20122U 89053A) : 89- 53 A 01-05-20 00:02 MJ 1356.1 2.3 9150
secondary max 40 s. after max
COSMOS 2172 (21789 91-79A) : seems to have an assymetrical period :
78.6 (standard deviation = 1.3) and 72.6 (standard deviation =
1.3)
Here are my measures (in seconds):
78.98 73.00 77.66 74.62 77.18 72.98 78.18 72.32 80.93
70.59 79.20 72.40
GORIZONT 8 (14532 83118A ) : 83-118 A 01-05-21 21:26 MJ 426.1 0.7 12
35.5 A'A' short flashes
All these observations have been made with a C8 and thanks to Rob's Skymap
which is such a precious tool!
Regards
