First Superbird A in PPAS format: 89-041 A 01-05-10 03:34:53.68JDG 125.7 0.3 11 11.42 +1.0->inv There was too much haze I couldn't locate this object with my DOB. The flashing was in progress when I went to my 7x50s. The phase shift occurred at about 03:33:30 UTC, 10 May. Cosmos 2327 Rk (23774, 96004B) This puppy is hard to track with a scope in hazy skies. The "invisible" part of its flash period is more than my 1.4 deg FOV. I recorded the end of a flash at 01:58:33 and subsequent flashes at: 01:58:40 01:58:52 (2x period?) 01:59:02 There are several good passes nor throughout the weedend in the NE USA. In clear skies this should be an easy binocular object.
