I think it's interesting to note that the predicted decay of the ISS as shown on the Science News page is a linear function, whereas the actual decay of Mir as shown at NASA page, http://www.hq.nasa.gov/mir/mirvis.html is non linear. The decay accelerates as the orbit becomes lower, as I would expect.
