Joseph Remis reported on the Reentrywatch mailing list, that the re-entry fireball of 17078B / 43040 was seen from South
America on 2018 Mar 10 at about 05:30 UTC.

The object was the third stage of the CZ-3B rocket that launched Alcomsat 1.

Based on the following news articles, sightings were reported in Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.

Sightings appear to have been possible from Bolivia, but I am not aware of any reports.

I estimate that the re-entry fireball passed over Chile at about 05:27 UTC. It crossed Paraguay at about 05:29 UTC. I
have insufficient data to accurately estimate the point of theoretical impact. It could have been in Brazil at about
05:37 UTC, or the Atlantic Ocean a bit later.
