What these numbers mean: http://www.satobs.org/position/IODformat.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not everything went according to plan this evening. It was very clear, with a good seeing. Early in the evening I set up my C6 telescope and did some imaging of the moon and Jupiter, where a shadow transit of one of its moons was occurring while the red spot was visible. I lost track of time however in doing so. Suddenly I realised a pass of USA 186 (05-042A) was about to happen, so I took the camera off from the telescope, rushed in to attach the 50mm lens and grab a tripod....too late, when I was back outside again and had aimed the camera, USA 186 had already passed by a few minutes... I was in time to capture USA 245 (13-043A) however, but this almost went wrong as well. As I was aiming the camera on the tail of the Big Dipper, I suddenly saw a bright object pass along the expected trail, but 2 minutes too early! Was this USA 245? I managed to nab the bright object in one quick shot. I decided to wait and snap more pictures around the expected time of the USA 245 pass, 2 minutes later. That was a good decision. Because yes, there she was on my imagery, rather faint but...: USA 245! She was on-time but 0.1 deg off-track relative to Cees' elset 14067.89901620 The imposter of 2 minutes earlier turned out to be SPOT 4... - Marco ----- Dr Marco Langbroek - SatTrackCam Leiden, the Netherlands. e-mail: sattrackcam_at_langbroek.org Cospar 4353 (Leiden): 52.15412 N, 4.49081 E (WGS84), +0 m ASL Cospar 4354 (De Wilck): 52.11685 N, 4.56016 E (WGS84), -2 m ASL Cospar 4355 (Cronesteyn): 52.13878 N, 4.49937 E (WGS84), -2 m ASL Station (b)log: http://sattrackcam.blogspot.com Twitter: @Marco_Langbroek ----- _______________________________________________ Seesat-l mailing list http://mailman.satobs.org/mailman/listinfo/seesat-lReceived on Sun Mar 09 2014 - 16:53:20 UTC
