The EasyCAP USB adapters work with Windows XP. If your PC supports
USB2 then it should fit the bandwidth requirements for most video
cameras. Furthermore, if your software can encode grey scale videos
that would save you a factor 3 in data rates.

I'm using the EasyCAP USB adapter with a Watec 902H and am able to
record data for a whole 12 hour night on my desktop PC running linux
(a million frames). I must admit I am not recording video but using
some sort of compression scheme. This reduces the data rates from
30MB/s to 0.7kB/s, though the total data to plow through still adds up
    to 25GB.

    Regards,
        Cees
