    Haven't read this article, i did read an article about it.
    
    Don't recall the exact details, but the article said the earth wobbles
    slightly during it's rotation.  The center point of the spin falls in
    an area roughly the size of a tennis court.  It slowly wanders around
    that area for the center point.   The Chile earthquake caused the
    point to jump a few inches. IT's still within that tennis court sized
    area.
    
    I'm guessing it's one of those "hmm, that's cool", nothing more than that.
