I was able to observe 09-01A / USA 202 for the first time
now that its westward drift has brought it above the
trees. It is probably the brightest of all the geostationary
    objects.

The unidentified object was found during an unsuccessful
search for 99-17A, the DSP satellite stranded in GTO. It was
on a similar track to that expected for 99-17A but somewhat
lower. After a cloudy interval I was unable to locate it
    again.
