The simulations I've seen show one dot (pixel) for each piece. The dots are
typically about 10 miles across to scale. The largest pieces don't warrant a
larger dot in the simulation. Obviously all the pieces are much smaller than 10
miles across but you can't show anything smaller than one pixel. They probably
should have made the satellites themselves 2 pixels across and of different
color in the simulation to show how it was a "glancing but devastating blow".
