I attempted to observe USA 200 (08010A / 32706) on 2008 Mar 23 at 09:10:33 UTC, using 25x100 binoculars, but did not see it. The sky was clear, but my look-angle was not far from the moon; nevertheless, I could just see my mag 9.3 reference star near the object's predicted path. Expected magnitude was 8.8, +/- 1.5, so it could have been too faint. I waited five minutes past the predicted time, to allow for a small manoeuvre. Earlier, I observed USA 186: 28888 05 042A 2701 G 20080323025942610 17 25 0509968+491719 18 S 28888 05 042A 2701 G 20080323030040710 17 25 0336365+555321 37 S IOD format: http://www.satobs.org/position/IODformat.html Site 2701: 43.68764 N, 79.39243 W, 230 m Ted Molczan ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
