Per Garhard's suggestion I gave it a try this evening with a 20 second exposure using a C-14 and SBIG ST-10 binned 3x3. Unfortunately Vanguard was so low in my sky the C-14 was operating at less than half aperture. Still, there is "something" on the image. http://gallery.utahastronomy.com/main.php?g2_itemId=11058 I hope to try it again when it is better placed for imaging. Maybe then I'll get something more definitive. Thanks for the suggestion, Gerhard. patrick On 16 Mar 2008, at 15:43, Gerhard HOLTKAMP wrote: > Unfortunately my equipment isn't up to the job (and the weather > doesn't seem > to be cooperating anyway) but if any of you do have powerful enough > equipment > could you try a golden anniversary picture of Vanguard I or its > booster in > orbit? > > Gerhard HOLTKAMP ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
