Interesting that the topic of new folks to the community came up recently. I just joined about a week ago. Several years ago I spotted a satellite overhead in the early morning sky. Quite clear visually. It was really cool! Then several weeks ago I saw an article in the New York Times about monitoring satellites. Again very cool! I didn't realize such a thing existed. So, as I say, a week ago I started googling and stumbled across you guys. I'm very interested in learning more about observing satellites and such. But, right now about the only thing that I can identify is the moon, the big dipper and the airplanes that track across my part of the sky. How on earth do I get started? If any of you guys can help, please email me off line. I live in Virginia, USA and have not noticed anyone from the area on the line here. Thanks for your help in advance. charlie
