Last night I left an unattended camera pointing NE at about 36 degs in the hope of catching a piece of 193 debris. Ted has kindly identified one of the "catches" as 07029B / 31793, a Zenit upper stage, and tells me that " Russell Eberst observed it on Feb 23 and 27, with a 1 s period. Alberto Rango observed it on Mar 03, and reported a 5.05 s flash period. The brightest star in the FOV is a mag 5.4, at 14:12, +69:26 (2000.0)." Many thanks to Ted for putting a name to the flasher :O) Here's a short animation of the 10 second exposures. http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/satcom_transits/07029B__31793.gif FOV is about 4.5 degrees This was essentially a test of the ATIK camera which I smashed a week ago......seems to be working OK John ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
