Thats even more interesting Marco.....it was an amendement to an earlier
    notification.....I couldnt find the original ( 8/5501**** but see below ) ,
    so I presume ,
as you say , that the original pre -dated the shootdown.....

The notice was WIE , until March 9th ( but later mentions UFN )
So...in the light of the new info regarding the number of tracked pieces
.....will that date be extended I wonder ?

    ****

In fact here is the original......cancelled / replaced by 8/5536

          /5501 8/5501 CANCELLED BY FDC 8/5535 ON 02/20/08 19:04
SPECIAL NOTICE .. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UNTIL 0803092300 UTC. AIRCRAFT
ARE ADVISED THAT A POTENTIAL HAZARD MAY OCCUR DUE TO REENTRY OF SATELLITE
USA-193 DEBRIS INTO THE EARTHS ATMOSPHERE. FURTHER NOTAMS WILL BE ISSUED IF
MORE INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE. IN THE INTEREST OF FLIGHT SAFETY, IT IS
CRITICAL THAT ALL PILOTS/FLIGHT CREW MEMBERS REPORT ANY OBSERVED FALLING
SPACE DEBRIS TO THE APPROPRIATE ATC FACILITY TO INCLUDE POSITION, ALTITUDE,
TIME, AND DIRECTION OF DEBRIS OBSERVED. WIE UNTIL UFN

The reason for canellation was to add the contact number

So 8/5536 was issued February 20thGMT ....just a few hours before the
    intercept.

    version )
