Was at my mother-in-law's house tonight and just before we left, I got a break in the clouds and started looking. I was able to observe this object traveling through the little dipper and just under Alcor on the handle of the big dipper. I noted it was 9:25 local time (0125z) and then it went into eclipse after a brief flash. I looked at my cell phone clock (wasn't really prepared to satwatch tonight) and it just turned 9:26 ET (0126z). I went to Heaven's Above site and it shows as the Cosmos 1697 Rocket that I observed. It was in the correct locations and eclipse at the time I spotted it. Heaven's above is default to local time on the predictions, correct? -- Greg Williams K4HSM k4hsm@knology.net http://www.twiar.org http://www.etskywarn.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
