    In Ted's equation:
    
    mag = 32.17 + 5 * log10("delta") + 0.01 * ("S-T-O" - 90), +/- 2
    
    replace the 32.17 with -8.7 to be able to use the "delta" in km:
    
    mag = -8.7 + 5 * log10("delta km") + 0.01 * ("S-T-O" - 90), +/- 2
