Some people had problems in trying to sign up for space station transit alerts, so thanks to Ralph McConahy for sending me a diagnostic error that seems to have allowed me to fix the problem (as far as some versions of Windows were concerned)! There's also a "simpler" URL that you can use to sign up, http://j2ee-consultants.com/TransitAlertSignupBody.jsp if some of the whimsical aspects of http://iss-transit.sourceforge.net/TransitAlertSignup.html are possibly causing you problems. I still haven't had a chance to get the current version of WorldView posted... it's looking like sometime after UTC 5:00 now. At least one person, running Windows XP on a Pentium IV, was having some problems getting it to work. Java (which is quite a different animal from JavaScript) is a "safe" language, so the potential for real system-level disaster (particularly as compared with a DOS program) isn't there. Nonetheless, this is still very much "beta release" software, which needs more work to make it truly functional, accurate, etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from SeeSat-L, send a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@satobs.org List archived at http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
