Notes:
(1) All observations of "new" geostationary satellite discovered a few
days ago - magnitude estimates are quite accurate as I used comparison
stars in the vicinity of the satellite. I suspect the satellite has a
long period variability of the order of minutes. This object must be
pretty BIG!
(2) Shadow entry detected 20h41m00UT approximately, invisible by 20h41m49s.
Shadow exit approximately 21h47m29s UT.
(3) Seeing was quite good - I could see magnitude 9.6 stars on the monitor .
I was
running GUIDE 8 on a pc next to the monitor and did frequent magnitude
checks.
It also helped to ensure that my camera was pointing where it should
be pointing.
Cheers
Greg
