Hi all. Just purchased a new pair of Fujinon (FMT-SX) 16x70s, and had to try them out. Was easily able to locate Gorizont 17 (1989-004A) the last several nights. Rob Matson discussed the acceleration of this satellite in a previous posting: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/Jan-2001/0400.html Between 1998/03/23 and 2002/03/15 (1453 days) the period has decreased by 7.24 seconds, or 0.005 seconds per day. From the data, one can observe a sharp decrease in the flash period during the winter months, while there is very little change during the summer months (June-July). Most recent obs in PPAS format: 89- 4 A 02-03-11 04:21 SDL 0.2 50 38.49 dT=1924.4 89- 4 A 02-03-12 04:41 SDL 0.2 52 38.49 dT=2001.5 89- 4 A 02-03-15 05:00 SDL 0.2 60 38.48 dT=2308.8 Best, and clear dark skies.
