Recently Orion 3 (25727, 99-024A) orbital elements from OIG have been all over the place. Now I've heard a claim that the owner (who?) is moving the satellite to a higher orbit. Has anyone heard of this? Not too long ago (late February) on one Orion 3 pass I observed three flashes, two of which showed that its rotation period was still around 19 seconds. Has anyone else observed it in the last week or so since the elements have been apparently erratic? Here are the five element sets that I just got: ORION 3 1 25727U 99024A 02065.13394176 .00000089 00000-0 10000-3 0 5171 2 25727 19.8312 329.5430 0040916 148.5934 211.6844 10.39122461146285 ORION 3 1 25727U 99024A 02064.07689405 .00000089 00000-0 10000-3 0 5164 2 25727 19.8303 332.6782 0040026 142.4295 217.8838 10.39105357146179 ORION 3 1 25727U 99024A 02063.88466267 .00000089 00000-0 10000-3 0 5150 2 25727 19.8274 333.2199 0040720 141.7683 218.4493 10.39080612146157 ORION 3 1 25727U 99024A 02063.60000000 .00000050 00000-0 00000+0 0 5130 2 25727 26.0680 333.8070 0104547 200.0250 163.6260 10.49036452146123 ORION 3 1 25727U 99024A 02061.60676805 -.00002127 00000-0 -22129-3 0 5128 2 25727 29.0660 335.9578 0590927 209.9708 117.7373 14.11620766145839 I sure will be glad when Mike's Web site is back in service!
