Boeing Delta II Launch of Iridium(r) Satellites Rescheduled

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Last night's (Thursday) launch of a Boeing
Delta II expendable launch vehicle carrying five Iridium System satellites was
rescheduled due a range safety concern with the direction of the upper level
winds. If the range had to destroy the rocket during the early phase of flight,
debris could land in populated areas.
The launch has been tentatively rescheduled for Sunday, March 29 at
10:02:46 p.m. PST. Weather conditions for Friday are questionable, a
briefing will be held in the morning to evaluate the probability of
Live television coverage of the launch is planned. Satellite coordinates
are Telstar 4K, Transponder 13 at 89 degrees West. Uplink frequency is
14395 horizontal, 12095 vertical. Broadcast time is 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. PST.
