Having seen a waste water dump from Challenger in
August 1985, I can confirm that it does indeed
look like a comet - a rather surreal one, with a
coma as bright as Jupiter, and a greenish blue
tail. The tail even led the "coma", as it rose
in the west, as a real comet's would, had it been
at that position relative the sun. It was a very
beautiful and impressive sight.
