This is an short introduction of myself, because I was asked to do this.
I am Kai Hamalainen (as a matter of fact, there are dots on the a's in my
lastname), student aged 21. I come from Lappeenranta, southeastern
Finland but novadays I live in Espoo which is close to capital Helsinki.
I've been keen on astronomy about ten years. I'm also interested in
light phenomena of atmosphere, comets, deep sky, CCD-technics and local
astronomical association activities.
I made my first artificial satellite observations in 1991. I have also
observed some rocket phenomena in 1985, 1986 and 1990. Since 1991, I
made observations of well-known satellites such as PegSat, EGP, CoBE,
Mir, SeaSat, Iras, Freja, space shuttles and many Cosmos-satellites.
The latest observations I made a year ago but from now on, I'm back in
business.
The problem is that here in northern Europe winters are very cloudy and
rainy (cold, too!). And summer nights are light. If someone of You
would like to send messages to me in French or in Swedish (or in the
Finnish language!) that's OK with me. I will answer, however, in English.
