    That's probably a legacy thing as any foreign nation would have a tap into this data anyway and it makes no sense to hide it from the general public.  Its not even useful from a terrorism perspective either.
    
    Someone should write to DoD and request permission.  If the situation did change, the data would become out-of-date rather rapidly once the feed was cut off.
