Last night Fred Blount was with us and spotted a
slowly moving flashing object low in the SSW at
almost midnight local time. It was southbound.
    Findsat gives Molniya 1-52 (81-123A, 13012) as a
pretty good match. The flash period was pretty
close to exactly 10 seconds, with alternating
bright-faint maxima at about five seconds, but
slightly asymmetrical in time. The brightest
ones were about magnitude 5. The position was
approximately RA 12:31, Dec -31 (in Hydra south
of Corvus). Kevin reported this one in 2005:

    Iridium 911 (97-30G, 24842) and Globalstar 23
(99-04A, 25621) both exhibited some spectacular
    maxima.
