    Released Friday;

    NASA's Johnston Space Center (JSC) has a requirement for a high frame
    rate, large-format Charge Coupled Device (CCD) camera system which
    will be used as the detector on a one meter diameter telescope to be
    located on Legan, an island in the Kwajalein Atoll located in the
    western pacific.

    JSC intends to purchase the items from Spectral Instruments because
    the firm specializes in the development and manufacture of CCD
    cameras. The firm has access to the newest E2V chips that meets
    NASA's imaging requirement and their SI 1100 Series camera head is
    the only regular production unit with a foot print (form factor)
    large enough to accept the 4K E2V CCD.

    Lastly, the firm is highly experienced in cryo-cooled cameras, which
    do not require human interaction or maintenance to maintain low
    background noise.
