Just came in from trying to observe Cosmos-1. I had a nice pass from 21:23 to 21:26 UT, but didn't see it. Sky was still very bright and also some cirrus. I used my 16x50 bino's. Near my second point I could just see a mag 6 star; so probably Cosmos-1 was fainter than that. More luck I hope when the sails are open.
