When the aircraft were west of the viewing location, it was kind of easy to spot them. When they were east in the direction of the sun, it was hard to keep track of where they were. There was considerable haze in the distance, the vapor trail was lost in the haze. Shortly before ignition, we were able to spot the vapor trail. Once the rocket was ignited, the plume from the rocket was very visible during the duration of the burn. It wasn't until a couple of minutes after hearing the sonic booms that we were able to figure which craft in the sky was SS1. -- roger@efn.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
