The last two nights I was able to observe Raduga 16 (85-070A, 15946) with a flash period of 56 seconds. This was roughly 4:30 to 5:00 UTC. Either it quits earlier each night or there was a phase shift Sunday PM and I gave up too soon. But I was distracted by a very slow moving object with a flash period of 7.5 seconds, maxima +7 at brightest. It turned out to be Intelsat 501 Rk (81-050B, 12497) at a range of 9,600 km (6,000 miles). There's a report on sci.astro.satellites.visual-observe of the new Zenit (04-021B, 28353) flashing twice per second. Congratulations to the Spaceship One team!
