Hello from Moscow! We seem to have an opportunity of USA 129 pass nearly simultaneous with Iridium 7 flare tomorrow. It will be at 23:48-23:50 MSK (UT+0400) with Sun only 7.5 degrees under horizon (remember - I'm at 56th latitude). I'm gonna take some photos of them with my 3.5x50 camera loaded with Fuji SX400. What additional equipment would you recommend if I want to report some useful observation? I think I can try to note moments of flares (if any). Will tape recorder be useful for that? I do hope flares will be visible on film as well as beta and delta Leonis (2.1m and 2.5m) to make position determination possible. I also wonder if anybody here has photos of Keyhole flares available on www? Like Anthony tonight, I will be hunting for 3 Iridium flares next night. We are even planning to have a little star party in the park with local community network admin and members. :-) Clear skies are finally here so we might try watching the Comet in the morning as well. Wish me good luck, and any useful hints regarding satellites are welcome! Regarding the scope, I only own a 65mm 1:8 Russian-made Newtonian Alcor on azimuthal mount.
