Last night with binoculars I spotted a pair of flashes near the edge
of my field of fiew. These flashes were about 1 second apart and approx. +6
mag. Later I saw another pair spaced about the same. About two minutes
later I saw a single flash. Then nothing after that. Each instance was a
little west of the previous. Afterwards I identified two viable candidates:
Intsat 4-3 (#5709) and Gorizont 3 r/b (#11684). Both of these are in the
"graveyard" near-geosynchronous orbit. My problem is they had nearly
identical tracks for me so I have no idea which one was the culprit. I'm
wondering if anyone else has seen either of these do any kind of flashing.
