    This would give the speed near the midpoint, so using points 1 and 3 to get
    the "dot" for point 2 would be more accurate. (Using that linear estimate
    and fitting a quadratic to 5-7 residuals might be overkill, but could
    eliminate noise from low-precision positions - no decimals on km?)
