Jay,
My group file BEST4MAG.SAT is just a text file with the catalogue
number of each object in the group - one number per line. I have 68 objects
in the file so far all of which can, at times, yield a mag +4 or brighter
pass. File format:
10967
22285
19120
22566
17590
It does not need the elements of each object, as these are pulled from
Satellite Pro's master satellite file each time a propagation run is done by
the user. I keep the master satellite file updated by importing fresh TLE
files such as your visual.tle, Mike McCants mccants.tle and Rainer Kracht's
ftp site 'List of Bright Satellites'.
>I already compile such a file. It is called VISUAL. It contains about 150
satellites
OK, but not all of them are visible from my latitude - HST (#20580) is in
your visual.tle file, but with an inclination of 28.47° will never be
visible from SE Ireland.
I check the Heavens Above site each night for my location and then add any
objects not in my best4mag.sat group file. My theory is that in a week or so
both outputs should have the same objects (apart from anything newly
launched)
Best Regards,
Pat Curran
