Suhas,

I explained Kevin Martin's observation to Seesat-L in a later
message.  What he saw was a penumbral flare -- one that occurs
right as the satellite is experiencing sunrise or sunset.  As
I recall, Kevin's case was one of a reverse sunrise -- sun
rising in the northeast, but satellite heading south such that
the sun actually appeared to be setting from its vantage point.
