If you can get a telescope that can automatically track satellites - well, that'd be GREAT! I'd highly suggest buying one, but I'm sure they are expensive (probably in excess of $1,000). I manually track a satellite with a 6" Dob. It's not easy to track satellites in the 200-500 km range - I'm successful only about 20 to30 percent of the time. But I realy haven't practiced that much. The best way to practice is to try to track airplanes as they fly overhead. They move at about the same speed.
