Greetings from KY

Just a short introduction... I subscribed a week or so ago after
seeing the article in Satellite Times, and later the Astronomy
magazine article (first Astronomy mag I've read in 19 years -
jeesh, it's been a while).

I was very involved in Amateur Astronomy back in 1979-1982.
Was a member of the Astronomy Club of Akron (OH) at that
time. I was 16-18 then. The family moved to KY in 1983,
which pretty much broke my stride with the hobby. The skies
where much darker than in NE Ohio, but it seemed I had less
time to look at it.

Now, with a family, a place of my own, and a *little* more
free time, I'm starting to get back into the swing of things.
It feels great to lay out on the deck on a moonless night, and
see all the old familiar things in the sky, as well as the new
man-made objects. Made my first MIR observation a few weeks
ago (See, I told you it's been a while since I had a chance to
look UP). Trying to become familiar with the various brighter
objects up there, and this list has been a big help. Thanks.

Anyone else here a member of the Astronomy Club of Akron?
Is it still active? Just wondering.

Good seeing to you all,
Rich Dailey, KA8OKH

(P.S. - Amateur radio operators can sometimes find me on RS 12/13)
