My name is Andre Beckus. I've been on this mailing list for a while but just never got around to sending an intro. I live in St. Petersburg, Florida, and attend the Center for Advanced Technologies, a magnet program at Lakewood High School. I guess that I really got interested in space travel when I saw "Apollo 13." I have seen several shuttle launches from my roof, but I have yet to see a launch of anything else. One of the first, and most spectacular, satellites that I saw was that tethered satellite that had broken loose from the shuttle. I am interested in pursuing a career in the space program, and am considering going to the Florida Institute of Technology, since it has some ties with the space program. Now I just had a couple of questions. Are all the epoch times for the satellites according to the atomic clock? I have read that there are radio stations that transmit this time. How do you know precisely what time it is so that you can tell exactly when the satellites are going to pass? Thanks, Andre "Muad'Dib" Beckus amuaddib@niven.imsweb.net
