My name is Patrick Wagner. I live in Sacramento, California, USA. I
am a 33 year old electrical engineer working for Aerojet, a producer of solid
and liquid rocket motors for space and defense (Aerojet currently
builds the OMS engines for the Shuttle, and the Titan IV, the largest
US satellite launcher).

I have been an amatuer astronomer for about 15 years, and a satellite
observer for about 5 years. I've used Paul Traufler's Traksat
satellite tracking program for most of that time, and have probably seen
75 to 100 different satellites. I also try to collect historical information
on the satellites I have seen. It is still a thrill to be able to
see a dim SERT-2 and read about the experiments performed on it, or
to look at Mir and tell my kids that there are men on board that
station (which I will be doing tonight.)

Primarily I observe satellites visually, but I have built a 137 Mz
reciever (kit) to monitor APT signals from weather satellites, and have a
passing interest in recieving the actual pictures (on a low budget).

I look forward to trading tales, asking questions, and maybe even
helping to answer a few.
