Been meaning to sit down and write this for awhile now, so here goes. My name is Peter Kirk and am presently living in Kingston, Ontario Canada on the north shore of Lake Ontario.
I have been interested in astronomy since the age of 12 (25 years ago) and satellite observing on and off for the last 3 years. I am now delving deeper into amateur satellite observing after being questioned as to what the different satellites passing over were as we sat around the camp fire the last two summers.
Presently, I am dividing my time between TrakSat and Quicksat for providing the timings of satellites. The light pollution around the house and a heavily travelled county road out the back door, only the brightest are visible from my backyard. But a short drive to the north and I can experience great dark skies.
I have been a frequent visitor to the amateur satellite observers homepage and find the information there of great benefit. A colleague of mine was wondering if the information on the homepage (observing guide) was available as postscript file so he could have a printed copy of it.
