Was able to observe Cosmos 482 (fragment E) last night (only visually)
This is an attempted Venus probe from 1972, which failed to escape low
Earth orbit. Saw it with 7x50 binoculars in WNW-E pass, 82 culm NNE.
Passed at distance of 215 km , about perigee of its 210 x 9800 km orbit.
It was whether the payload or the detached engine unit. Magnitude seemed
dimmer then the predicted 3.0. Next time hope to capture it!
