At 2:14 utc ( July 29 ) Intelsat 1R ( 26608 ) was mag 7 are brighter. The flare last's for awhile, but the flare is brightest only for a few minutes. A picture of Intelsat 1R, before they sent it, to the launch site. http://tinyurl.com/lsx9rx You should see a silver coloured surface on it, near the top left, that's one of it's antenna's :) So a good surface to reflect sunlight. So to my illogical way of thinking, the antenna can cause a flare, when the angles are right. But pay no attention to me.
