    Observations 01 July 2009
    -------------------------------------

Cosatrak 1 (Computerised satellite Tracking System).
Camera mount now carries two systems that can be operated
together as two totally different sytems and computers used.

Meade DSI Pro II Monochrome CCD camera without filters.
using integration times of 5 sec min to 25 seconds maximum
depending on brightness of sky in particular area.No image
processing done, but some done automatically in the auto reduction
    software.

Used with 4 inch SKYWATCHER refractor- model 1025 - fitted with home
made focal reducur to give an f/2.56 system. Image scale is 6.56 arc
    sec/pixel and field of view 84.8 x 63.2 arc minutes. Shows 15th
magnitude stars in real time with reasonably good conditions.

Video observations made with Nikon telephoto lens set at f/2.8 and
focal length 100 mm approximately, giving a field of view of 3.29
by 2.61 degrees.Used the Mintron video camera giving 2.56 sec
    integrations.

Exposure time to nearest second inserted into image FITS header
from PC clock which is automatically checked every minute against
    GPS signal.

    Notes:
    ----------
    (1) Conditions very poor - high altitude cloud drifting over continuously
would not normally observe under such conditions but wanted to do a
2 hour plane scan for the new unknwon so kept myself busy with a few
satellites before scan was to start. Unfortunately nil seen so for
the present it is lost again.

    (2) I have reported a run on TRUMPET 5 (#32706) done with both the Meade
camera and the MINTRON video camera. The Meade times are only
accurate to about 1-2 seconds whilst the video times are 0.1 seconds,
but Meade positions are more accurate.

    Cheers
    Greg
