    greetings all

I observed this morning a flare from lacrosse 3. the flare was much
brighter than I recall ever seeing 3 go. much brighter than altair, which
was just nearby, I would estimate it reached -2 or -2.5 for a few seconds,
just as it passed through sagitta and delphinus (I believe it was brightest
just as it was centered between those two constellations). peak occurred at
    08:16:44 UTC.

also this morning, I observed the contraption known as the ISS from about
09:09:15 UTC until roughly 09:12 UTC. low in the north, peaking only at 17
degrees elevation, it shone through a bunch of murk near the northern
horizon which prevented my observation of dubhe or any of the other stars in
ursa major just below its path.

    clear skies!
