    Brian,

I have plotted your timings with my SYNODIC program to examine the period, accuracy
and secondary flash interval. (Attachments sent to Brian, Rob, Leo)
It shows only one timing about 0.8 s early, the others are very consistent!
I also used PPASINP to format your flash obs to std format as a comment
    in SYNODIC:
    80-004 A 05-07-06 04:35:35 Bri 826.4 0.3 13 63.57 mA'

Do you run your recording PC under DOS or Windows?
Generally, Windows can't be trusted to react to keyclicks and other events,
but obviously sound recording must run without any glitch.
What program and methods do you use to read the timings from the recording?

Looking at the SYNODIC plot with 1/6 of the combined flash period, I find that
1/ The secondary flash is VERY close to 1/6 period from the main, suggesting
a fixed surface by design (not solar panel??)
2/ Your timings are better than 0.25s - all except one are within +-0.08
    from a smooth curve
3/ The (visually) best fit period is 63.57 s
4/ With your accuracy, the std err of periods could be 0.08/sqrt(12) =
    0.02s
5/ The graph of 1/6 period indicates a synodic effect: 63.486s initially, 63.570
s mostly, 63.630s at the end?
