Through some private email it was suggested that my unid was fltsatcom 3 (norad 11669). Checking with HA and their TLE's I've confirmed that's what I saw. I was successful this evening in seeing it at around 9:30 pm local pacific and was prepared to get some flash timings. First, this is my first attempt at timings and my method was probably crude. I used a microphone into my PC to record me snapping my fingers when I saw a flash. I was able to time my snaps to 3 decimal places although I fully realize my finger snapping was probably not much better than 1/4 sec. Anyway, I observed for 13 cycles (nearly 14 minutes) and got an average of 53.0 and 10.6 seconds between the two flashes in each cycle. Here's my raw timings and time of first flash (within 1 sec). 52.891 - 21:21:49 PDT July 5, 2005 10.628 52.853 10.612 52.968 9.818 53.704 10.671 52.926 10.594 52.935 10.649 53.005 10.568 52.967 10.654 53.015 10.523 52.939 10.708 52.928 10.582 53.050 10.519 53.042 10.625 Brian -- http://www.skywise711.com - Lasers, Seismology, Astronomy, Skepticism Seismic FAQ: http://www.skywise711.com/SeismicFAQ/SeismicFAQ.html Blog: http://www.skywise711.com/Blog Sed quis custodiet ipsos Custodes? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
