96-29F, TiPS: On the first pass in a bright sky the tether was not visible and the reported position and mag refer to one of the end masses. I believe it was the lower, Ralph as I may have seen Norton very briefly. On the next pass I picked up the tether near the zenith where it subtended barely 1 arcmin suggesting it is still vertical. Neither end mass was visible and the position reported is that of the centre of the tether. Thanks to both Mike and Ted for identifying my unknown object on the 9th as 82-72A.
